In light of numerous large-scale data breaches and increasing rates of counterfeit card fraud, U.S. card issuers are transferring to this new technology to protect consumers and reduce the costs of fraud. In October of 2015, the liability shifted from banks to individual merchants. The shift means that if a merchant is presented with an EMV capable chip card for payment but the transaction does not take place using the chip, the merchant will hold the liability for card present counterfeit fraud losses. Xüdle POS is ready to accept these transactions.
Traditionally, credit cards have been issued with a magnetic stripe, which could easily be cloned. To combat fraud, credit cards are now equipped with a "smart chip," making them nearly impossible to clone.
Xüdle has partnered with Axia Payments to provide an integrated payment technology solution. The partnership with Axia provides added security such as patented technology to reduce your PCI footprint. This means credit card information never actually touches your computers/software, and the risk of data breach is significantly reduced. In addition, the seamless integration with Axia provides integrated EMV/chip & PIN card acceptance directly from the Xudle interface.
Enabling the EMV payment option will mean more secure card present transactions, reduced fraud liability and participation in a global standard of payment card acceptance.
How can Xüdle help
In order for anyone to take advantage of the added benefits of EMV payments, a hardware update is necessary as an EMV compliant terminal or peripheral is required. We have payment terminals and peripherals that are already NFC-capable and EMV-capable. Sold directly through Axia, these terminals and peripheral's are deeply discounted in order to accommodate adoption of these new methods of payment as soon as possible.
